Al Manara

A poetic and philosophical musical crossing

a meeting between the West and Palestine,
of its Arab world …
something magical and profound

A musical encounter between Palestine and Occident, under the look of French philosopher Edgar Morin…

Al Manara is a creation that gathers Belgian and Palestinian musicians around Ramzi Aburedwan and Eloi Baudimont. The artistic dialogue gives birth to a moving cultural blending where the Oriental propositions of Ramzi, be they traditional or original, are intertwined with the continental answers of Eloi…
European polyphony answers to the poignant Palestinian melodies; the softness of Palestinian singing, chords, nay and percussions echoes the powerful European brass wind…

The texts of the songs have been chosen within the works of the Palestinian poet, Mahmoud Darwich. This poems can be sung in english, french and spanish.

The benefit of CD sales is sent in full to the Al-Kamandjati association, giving access to music to more than 600 Palestinian children in the West Bank and refugee camps.
